Catholic Charities of NWFL
Catholic Charities of Northwest Florida serves, empowers, and advocates for impoverished and vulnerable families and individuals of any race, religion or national origin across the Florida Panhandle.
Our programs focus on empowerment and seek to enact long-term, positive change in the lives of those we serve.
Our services are tailored for the unique circumstances of each person and our impact is significant and measurable. We serve our neighbors professionally, compassionately, in multiple languages, with great importance placed on building-up their personal dignity and encourage them to create a better life for themselves & their families.
Whether it is food for the hungry, shelter for the homeless, or providing adoption and pregnancy services to women overwhelmed by an unplanned pregnancy, we reach out with a humble heart to provide assistance.
Doorways of NWFL Community Resource Center
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 9:30 am – 12:30 pm Tuesday and Thursday 9:30 am – 3:30 pm
Doorways of Northwest Florida operates as the Lead Agency and centralized coordinated entry access point for the Northwest Florida Continuum of Care (CoC). We facilitate understanding and distribution of federal and state funding available to providers in the community that are working to end homelessness in Bay, Calhoun, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, and Washington counties.
We are committed to ending and preventing homelessness through coordinated community efforts with specific approaches directed toward securing housing for those who are experiencing homelessness, those at high risk of homelessness, and those earning less than 50% annual median income. We serve diverse populations including Veterans, those chronically homeless, families, and youth.
Our services include assessments for rental & mortgage assistance, rental & utility deposits, past due rent & utilities, and case management. We also make referrals for mainstream benefits, employment assistance, medical & mental health, medical insurance, and COVID-19 testing & vaccine resources.
