Saint Dominic Discipleship Pathway

Saint Dominic Discipleship Pathway

We seek to have a dynamic, life-long, ever-growing relationship with Jesus: the Discipleship Pathway helps us as we journey to Christ

Schedule and Location

The Discipleship Pathway is a set of purposeful steps the parish gives to adults to help us live out our Parish Mission: to Encounter Christ, be formed as Missionary Disciples, and Evangelize others. While there are many offerings and ministries at the parish, these specific steps are in place to intentionally help us move from seekers, to believers, to active missionaries, on-fire with the Gospel of Christ and dauntless in bringing Jesus and His Church to our homes, our work, our friends, and our communities.

While anyone can jump in anywhere, the goal of the pathway is movement: where we begin is not where we should end!

Encounter Christ

Perpetual Adoration: Our 24/7/365 All Saints Adoration Chapel is the engine of our parish. Day and night, someone is before our Lord, interceding for our homes, our parish, and our community. All are invited to come spend time with Jesus, truly Present in the Eucharist, in the Adoration Chapel. We especially encourage all parishioners to sign up for a weekly Holy Hour, and commit to spending an hour each week in silent prayer before our Blessed Lord.

OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation for Adults): Our OCIA class is for all unbaptized adults 18+ who are interested in learning about the Catholic faith and considering becoming Catholic. OCIA meets on Wednesdays from September - May from 6:30-7:30 at Wednesday Church Night.

Catholicism 101: We believe the Catholic Church contains the fullness of the Christian faith and all the gifts that God wants to give to you, His beloved child. Whether you have never stepped foot in a Catholic Church, you used to be Catholic, you are Catholic but haven't completed receiving sacraments, or you are a lifelong Catholic who wants to learn how to defend your faith, you are most welcome!  Catholicism 101 meets on Wednesdays from September - May from 6:30-7:30 at Wednesday Church Night.

Be Formed as a Missionary Disciple

Catholicism 201: After encountering Christ, the story of salvation, and the reasons for our Catholic faith in Catholicism 101, Catholicism 201 is for those ready to dive deeper, exploring the depths of our faith and learning to be transformed as missionary disciples of Jesus. This is our "deep dive," engaging topics such as The Great Adventure Bible Timeline, The Catechism of the Catholic Church in a Year, The School of the Saints, and other topics that help set us on fire in faith and prepare us to live it out. Catholicism 201 meets on Wednesdays from September - May from 6:30-7:30 at Wednesday Church Night.

Evangelize Others

Catholicism 301: As Christians, we can often get stuck in "receive mode," where we endlessly glean more information (which is good!) but never share it with anyone else. At Saint Dominic, we believe that every single one of us was born in this time, in this place, to be on Mission with Jesus and help bring others to Him. If we believe that Jesus saves and heals and transforms and redeems us, then what should prevent us from sharing this with those who are lost, broken, and facing the struggles of life without the Good News of salvation, or without the Sacraments which pour God's very Life into our souls? Catholicism 301 exists to help us learn how to share our faith, and support us as we put it into practice. Catholicism 301 meets on Sundays between the morning English Masses June -July and mid-December - mid-January, to prepare and equip disciples to listen well, to have great conversations about faith with others, and to invite others into the pathway. Our 301 parishioners come to Wednesday Church Night on mission, walking with men and women in OCIA, in Catholicism 101, and as Table Hosts in Catholicism 201. The goal of this portion of the pathway is to be sent out so we can bring other people into the first steps of the pathway. This is designed to be multiplicative: we're either going through the pathway to learn for ourselves, or we are accompanying someone else through it.
